Applications close: 11.59pm, Tuesday 15th December 2026

Fibre Gallery is excited to announce our annual Open Call for Proposals. This Open Call is for an exhibition programme commencing in 2026 for our gallery based in the heart of Ōtautahi Christchurch.

About Fibre

Fibre Gallery is a distinctly Pacific Moana-focused gallery dedicated to showcasing community-engaged, digital, and heritage artworks by Moana creatives.

Based in the heart of Ōtautahi Christchurch, Fibre Gallery is committed to increasing the visibility of Pacific artists and fostering greater understanding and appreciation of contemporary Pacific art among New Zealanders. By providing resources, opportunities, and a platform to amplify creative voices, we celebrate the richness of Pacific artistry and its role in shaping cultural expression.

Our mission extends to building connections between contemporary Pacific voices and wider social and political conversations, ensuring Pacific creativity plays a vital role in broader narratives.

Open call for proposals

Fibre invites proposals from Pacific Moana artists, groups, and art collectives from all disciplines for our 2026/2027 exhibition programme. As Fibre is the first distinctly Moana-focussed gallery in Te Wai Pounamu, we particularly encourage expressions of interest from Moana creatives based in Te Wai Pounamu as well as our Whaikaha communities, and artists living in the South Pacific islands outside of Aotearoa.
